New Wave Height and Sea Surface Temperature Map Layers

We’re always working on expanding and improving our AerisWeather Mapping Platform (AMP), including the new global radar (derived) we recently launched. Continuing that trend, we’ve released two new ocean layers:  an improved sea surface temperature map layer and an ocean wave heights layer. Improved Sea Surface Temperature Layer Our improved sea surface temperatures (SST) layer is now updated daily. Furthermore, the improved data is also less affected by cloud cover over an area to provide a more complete picture of surface conditions. Use the layer code [crayon-5e88c96dae276011630066-i/]  to access the sea surface temperatures layer: [crayon-5e88c96dae27f187395188/] Using our AMP wizard, you can test the layer...

Create a 3D Weather Globe with AerisWeather and the ArcGIS JavaScript SDK

AerisWeather offers a wide array of weather map layers for use within your projects. Whether you need a stand-alone map for a visual display or a fully interactive dashboard for an enterprise command center, our weather mapping platform (AMP) and our suite of tools can assist. Our mapping platform can integrate with many third-party libraries, allowing you to create some unique displays such as a 3D weather map. The ESRI ArcGIS JavaScript API is one potential library for creating 3D visuals. Utilizing the ArcGIS API along with a few lines of code, you can have a fully interactive 3D globe...

Utilizing the COVID-19 Map Module within the AerisWeather JavaScript SDK

COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) is a global pandemic currently affecting millions of people and nearly every economy worldwide. It’s often challenging for people to grasp the severity and full breadth of these types of situations just by giving them a series of numbers from the data. Data visualizations, such as maps and charts, drastically improve the understanding of data and its impacts compared to providing people with just the data. Knowing this, we have created a COVID-19 map module that combines data from John Hopkins with our own JavaScript SDK. The COVID-19 Map Module The COVID-19 module is a map module that utilizes our...

Custom Map Modules Using the AerisWeather Javascript SDK

About a year ago we first released our new AerisWeather Javascript SDK. Since then, it’s been a popular toolkit for many developers and companies to use in jump-starting their weather-based web applications. With our version 1.3.0 release, we introduced support for map modules to allow you to quickly extend your interactive maps or map applications with custom datasets and layers. You can now take advantage of the immense flexibility and architecture we’ve already established with our SDK for your own data. So, What are Map Modules? Map modules are self-contained data layer components that can be added to and rendered on InteractiveMap and InteractiveMapApp instances....
