Alerts Endpoint: New European Alerts and Polygon Support

It’s been a busy few weeks with the public beta of the new conditions endpoint, improvements to the forecast API, and recent enhancements to the global radar map layer. We’re continuing this trend with significant upgrades to our alerts endpoint by adding support for European alerts and alert polygons! European Alerts Alerts across Europe are now part of our alerts API. We have integrated weather warnings from Meteoalarm into the API and they are now available for all AerisWeather API users. European alerts will also be added to the alerts layer within the AerisWeather Mapping Platform in the coming weeks....

Forecast API Improvements

The forecasts endpoint is one of our most utilized weather API endpoints. It provides daily, day and night, and hourly forecasts for up to the next 15 days. As a result, we are continually looking to improve our forecast endpoint and expand its functionality. Over the last few weeks, we have implemented several improvements to our forecast platform to increase the speed, accuracy, and functionality of the forecasts. Improved European Forecasts First off, we have implemented new models and data sources that significantly expand the spatial and temporal resolution across Europe. With these additional data sources, our users can expect...

New Global Radar Enhancements

In February, we released our Global Radar (Derived) for the AerisWeather Mapping Platform (AMP). Following the release, we received very positive feedback as well as some suggestions for improvements. We’ve listened to all the feedback and this week released a significant update to this layer! Global Radar Combined with Actual Radar Data The global radar layer now combines our standard radar with the derived radar.   With this change, areas including the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and others display the same radar information as our standard radar layer. Other locations, such as Africa and South America, will utilize the derived radar...

New Global Weather Conditions Endpoint

What is the current weather outside? What’s the weather in Minneapolis? What’s the current temperature in northern Alaska? Requests for current weather conditions are a significant portion of the total requests we receive. With this in mind, we are constantly improving and expanding our observations network. So today, we are announcing the public release of our new conditions endpoint. What is the Weather Conditions Endpoint? The new weather conditions endpoint provides a single method to obtain weather conditions for any location globally. This endpoint includes information for the location and time requested using a blend of nearby weather observations, radar...
