DevOps Engineer

We ingest, analyze, transform and visualize data from an assortment of sources to produce the best and most in-depth weather products. AerisWeather is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to create and manage workflows for delivering products to customers efficiently; automating feedback of running systems so we can create better products for our customers and make smarter business decisions.


  • Manage production environments for efficient delivery of products
  • Create systems that can automatically scale depending on utilization
  • Highly available systems should be able to recover from issues with minimal downtime, balancing cost with availability
  • Create secure organized systems to deliver products
  • Build tools to aid development of products
  • Automate deployments with Continuous Integration: Development -> Testing -> Staging/QA -> Production
  • Monitor running applications, providing feedback to the development and business teams
  • Learn existing systems while learning new technologies to make future products and updates more efficient
  • Communicate with business and development teams about how products are performing and what could be improved
  • Flexible schedule and on-call availability


  • Linux System Administration - GNU Utils, Bash, Systemd
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) - We use AWS to house our infrastructure, experience with EC2 (VPCs, AutoScaling Groups, etc. ), RDS, and Route53
  • Containers (Docker)
  • Version Control - Git

  • Kubernetes or other Container/Cluster Management
  • CoreOS - Container focused OS
  • Software development experience
  • Statistics knowledge - What metrics can we pull from our products and systems to give us better feedback about our business?
