Getting Started

You'll need an active Aeris API subscription and your application registered with the weather API in order to receive the required access ID and secret key.

Step 1: Sign up for an AerisWeather API subscription service. We offer a free developer account for you to give our weather API a test drive.

Step 2: Log in to your account to register your application for an weather API access key. Each application requires its own unique access key.

Step 3: Create a basic map with the following Javascript code. For a full example containing the html, please view the Aeris Interactive Maps page.

Javascript

<div id="map-canvas" style="margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; width:600px; height:500px"> </div>

<link media="screen" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="//api.tiles.mapbox.com/mapbox.js/v2.2.1/mapbox.css">
</style>
<script type="text/javascript" src="//cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/leaflet/0.7.2/leaflet.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.aerisjs.com/aeris-interactive/aim.js"></script><script type="text/javascript">
    var aerisMapBuilder = new aeris.interactive.MapAppBuilder({
        apiId: 'clientID',
        apiSecret: 'clientSecret',
        el: '#map-canvas'
    });
    aerisMapBuilder.start();
</script>

Step 4: Customize the interactive map to the desired specifications. Different customization options can be found in the navigation menu to the left.
